  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Assorted fresh fruits (strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, and raspberries)
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam, for glazing


  1. In a food processor, combine the flour and cubed butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the sugar and egg yolk, then pulse again. Gradually add ice water until the dough comes together.
  3. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prep Time: 45 minutes
